For wrinkles and fine lines
Limited evidenceIn the key RCT, 44 patients used bakuchiol 0.5% twice daily or retinol 0.5% nightly for 12 weeks: both significantly reduced wrinkle surface area with no statistical difference between them, and bakuchiol users reported less scaling and stinging. A 2022 systematic review found consistent improvements in photodamage and wrinkle scores across the small clinical literature. One adequately designed comparative trial is promising but not yet strong evidence.
